Trauma
When past experiences still feel present – feeling on edge, numb, or stuck in patterns – it is not a flaw. It is your nervous system doing what it had to do to get you through. I work with grief, anxiety, depression and burnout because trauma often sits underneath them. What looks like overthinking, people-pleasing, shutting down, or always being the strong one often started as survival. You don't need a big label or a diagnosis to come. If the past is still living in your body today – sleep off, triggers, flashbacks, feeling unsafe in your own skin – that's enough. What Is Trauma? Trauma is not just the event itself. It is the lasting imprint it leaves on your body, mind and sense of safety. When something overwhelming happens and we don't have time, support or resources to process it, the body stays on alert. That can show up as anxiety, flashbacks, nightmares, feeling shut down or numb, difficulty trusting, or feeling easily overwhelmed. You don't need a label to get support.

How I Work – Tri-Phasic Model + Pendulation My work is grounded in the Tri-Phasic Model [Judith Herman] – NICE-recognised phased approach – integrated with somatic pendulation from Somatic Experiencing. Clear structure, steady pace – stabilisation before processing. Phase 1: Finding Solid Ground – Safety & Stabilisation – Feeling safer now. Grounding, stress response, resources, boundaries, psychoeducation, regulation skills, risk management. No trauma processing until stabilised. Phase 2: Processing At Your Pace – Remembrance & Pendulation – When ready, making sense of what is held in body. Pendulation – moving between activation and safety – so system processes without overwhelm. You lead, no flooding. Titrated pacing, window of tolerance. Phase 3: Reclaiming Your Life – Reconnection & Integration – Reconnecting to self, others, future. Carrying what happened as part of story, not whole story. Building resilience, functioning in work/relationships/daily life. Outcomes: Improved regulation, reduced hypervigilance/intrusive symptoms, better sleep, daily functioning, stronger boundaries/relationships.
